How to Leave GloriaFood Before the Shutdown: The Full Checklist

Oracle switches GloriaFood off on 30 April 2027, and there is no migration path and no data export tool: whatever you have not saved yourself is deleted at the cutoff. The good news is that leaving well is mostly a checklist. Work through the steps below in order and you will walk into your next ordering system with your menu, your photos and your customers intact, and switch GloriaFood off on your own terms rather than Oracle’s.
Talk to a real person about switching
Before you start: know what you are working against
Three facts shape every step in this guide. GloriaFood shuts completely on 30 April 2027. New signups are already closed. And Oracle is not providing a migration tool or a data export path, so menus, customer records and order history are deleted at the cutoff. Everything you want to keep, you save by hand, and the earlier you do it the calmer the whole move becomes.
Do not wait for an official export tool to appear. Oracle has confirmed there is no migration path. Treat everything in your GloriaFood admin as something you will copy out manually, starting this week.
Step 1: save your menu
Your menu is the skeleton of your next system, and rebuilding it from memory is where switching restaurants lose the most time. There is no menu export button, so copy it out while everything is still in front of you.
- Open your GloriaFood admin and go through the menu category by category.
- Copy every item into a spreadsheet: name, description, price, category, and every size, option and modifier with its price adjustment.
- Screenshot each category page as a backup, including the modifier pop-ups. Screenshots catch the details a hurried spreadsheet misses.
- Record your delivery zones, delivery charges, minimum order values and opening hours in the same spreadsheet.
- Note every active promotion: the discount, the conditions, and whether it actually gets used.
A complete menu spreadsheet also speeds up onboarding with whichever provider you choose, since most, Aexir included, will load your menu for you from exactly this kind of document.
Step 2: download your photos
Food photos are easy to forget and painful to lose, especially any that were shot professionally. Save them before you touch anything else in the website editor.
- Download every dish photo from your menu at the largest size available. If the admin only shows thumbnails, open each image and save the full-size version.
- Save your logo, header images and any banner graphics from the website editor.
- Check your phone, email and old folders for the original files. Originals beat re-downloaded copies.
- Name the files after their dishes as you go, so they map straight onto the new menu.
Step 3: save your customer list
Customer records are the most valuable thing in the account, and Oracle has confirmed they will not survive the cutoff. Save whatever your admin gives you access to: order reports, customer names, phone numbers and email addresses. If a report can be downloaded, download it; where it cannot, copy the details out manually, starting with your most frequent customers.
A quick compliance note: these are your customers and you can keep their details when you switch systems, but UK GDPR still applies. Keep the list secure, and only use it for the kind of contact your customers agreed to when they ordered.
Step 4: choose your replacement, months before the deadline
The deadline is fixed, so the real risk is not choosing badly, it is choosing late. Onboarding queues at every provider will grow as April 2027 approaches, and you want weeks of side-by-side running before you switch anything off. We keep a full comparison of GloriaFood alternatives for UK restaurants, with each provider’s published pricing in one table. Whatever you shortlist, check it against this list:
- Flat, published pricing on the website. If you cannot find the price, that is the answer.
- No commission on your own orders.
- Your customer data exportable at any time, so this never happens to you again.
- A realistic setup timeline in weeks, stated up front.
- Your brand on the ordering site and app, not the provider’s.
Where Aexir fits
Aexir’s Web plan is built for exactly this move: a branded ordering website with POS on the Go for £30 a month excluding VAT, and no marketplace commission on your orders. Native iOS and Android apps are available on higher tiers, and every plan is published in full on the pricing page. Your menu and photos from steps 1 and 2 are loaded for you during setup. If you want to see what commission-free ordering is worth on your volumes first, run your weekly numbers through the savings calculator, or talk to us about the timeline from your current setup.
Step 5: redirect your domain and every ordering link
Orders reach GloriaFood through more doors than most owners remember. List every place a customer can start an order, then repoint each one at the new system during the side-by-side period.
- Your own domain: if your website is hosted by GloriaFood on a domain you own, repoint the domain at your new ordering site. If your site just embeds the GloriaFood widget, replace the widget and every ordering button with the new links.
- Google Business Profile: update the website link, the menu link and any ordering links Google shows on your profile.
- Social bios and link-in-bio pages on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- QR codes on tables, windows, flyers and printed menus: reprint them pointing at the new site.
- The Facebook ordering tab and the FoodBooking app listing, both of which stop working at the cutoff anyway.
Step 6: test ordering before you switch GloriaFood off
Run both systems side by side for at least two to four weeks. The test is not whether the new system demos well, it is whether real orders flow.
- Place a real test order end to end: order, payment, kitchen receipt, and a refund.
- Check the live menu against your spreadsheet, item by item, prices and modifiers included.
- Order once from a phone on mobile data, not the shop wifi, the way customers actually do.
- Tell regulars about the new site or app while the old one still works, so nobody ever hits a dead ordering page.
- Only then switch GloriaFood off, well before 30 April 2027, on a quiet day you chose.
Treat 30 April 2027 as the date everything must already be finished, not the date to switch. Restaurants that move in the final weeks will all be competing for the same onboarding queues at once.
Move off GloriaFood without losing a customer
Talk to a real person about moving your menu, photos and customers to a branded ordering website with POS on the Go, from £30 a month excluding VAT, with no commission on your orders.
Plan the moveCommon questions answered.
The ordering widget and any GloriaFood-hosted website stop working on 30 April 2027, along with Facebook ordering, the FoodBooking app and payment processing. If the site runs on a domain you own, you keep the domain and can point it at a new ordering system. If it runs on a GloriaFood address, that address dies with the platform.
Oracle retires GloriaFood on 30 April 2027. New signups are already closed, existing accounts work until the cutoff, and menus, customer data and order history are deleted after it.
There is no menu export or migration tool. Copy the menu out manually into a spreadsheet, covering items, prices, options and modifiers, and screenshot each category as a backup. Most replacement providers, Aexir included, will load your menu from that spreadsheet during setup.
Yes. Save your customer records before the cutoff, because Oracle will not retain them. UK GDPR still applies after the move: keep the data secure and only use it for the kind of contact your customers agreed to.
Allow a few weeks for setup plus two to four weeks running both systems side by side. With Aexir, setup is handled for you and is typically live in under 30 days, which is why starting months before the deadline keeps the move calm.
