Is FoodAmigos the Official GloriaFood Replacement? What Oracle and FoodAmigos Actually Say

Photo: Ali Mkumbwa on Unsplash
No. Oracle has not named an official replacement for GloriaFood. The service update on gloriafood.com says Oracle offers no direct replacement and makes customers aware of FoodAmigos, an ordering platform run by a German company that offers onboarding help to GloriaFood restaurants. Oracle's end-of-life FAQ says Oracle "cannot recommend specific third-party providers". FoodAmigos is a genuine option at $35 a month per restaurant before tax, but one choice among many. Sources checked 28 October 2026.
Short answer: FoodAmigos is the only provider named on the GloriaFood homepage. That makes it the best-known option, not the official one. Oracle's end-of-life FAQ does not mention it, and FoodAmigos' own GloriaFood pages do not claim to be official. You can move to any provider.
What Oracle and FoodAmigos actually say
We read four primary sources on 28 October 2026. This is what each says and leaves out.
| Source (checked 28 October 2026) | What it says | What it does not say |
|---|---|---|
| GloriaFood homepage service update, gloriafood.com | End of life on 30 April 2027, with existing customers supported until then. Oracle does not offer a direct replacement and wants customers to be aware of FoodAmigos, which offers onboarding resources for GloriaFood restaurants that choose to move. | It does not call FoodAmigos official, recommended or a partner, and mentions no Oracle migration tool. |
| Oracle GloriaFood EOL FAQ, version 1.0, March 2026, oracle.com/webfolder/dms/prod/d3/FAQs-GL.pdf | End of life 30 April 2027. Paid services stop when your final renewal expires, between 1 and 30 April 2027. The free tier runs to the end. Data can be retrieved for 30 days after services end. Oracle cannot recommend specific providers. | It does not mention FoodAmigos. |
| Oracle food and beverage page, oracle.com/food-beverage | GloriaFood is being discontinued, signups have stopped, and full end of service is 31 March 2027. | It does not mention FoodAmigos, and its date differs from the other two Oracle sources. |
| FoodAmigos GloriaFood microsite, gloriafood.foodamigos.io (home, restaurant and pricing pages) | A migration offer for GloriaFood restaurants and resellers: migration done for you, first month free, an All-In-One plan at $35 a month per restaurant. | None of the three pages uses the word official or mentions Oracle. |
Read on each publisher's own site on 28 October 2026.
So the honest reading is narrow. Oracle mentioned one provider by name on the GloriaFood homepage, and its formal FAQ says it cannot recommend anyone. FoodAmigos is a provider Oracle made you aware of, with a ready-made migration offer. It is not a successor product or a move you are required to make.
The FAQ's only pointer is for restaurants using GloriaFood with Oracle Simphony: their integration stops at the end date and they are sent to Oracle's online ordering partners page. Everyone else is asked to weigh alternatives against their own needs and move before the end date.
Which date is right? GloriaFood's homepage and Oracle's FAQ say 30 April 2027; Oracle's food and beverage page says 31 March 2027, and paid add-ons stop at your last renewal, which can fall from 1 April. Be live on your new system before the end of March 2027 and the difference stops mattering.
What FoodAmigos costs, from its own pages
FoodAmigos is run by FoodAmigos GmbH, a German company whose Restaurant Platform Terms (version 14 September 2026) give a registered address in Bonn. The main pricing page at foodamigos.io lists features but no figures; the prices are on the GloriaFood microsite and in the restaurant terms, in US dollars.
| Item | Published price or term | Where it says so |
|---|---|---|
| All-In-One plan (Core Subscription in the terms) | $35 a month per location, net of VAT or sales tax | Pricing page; terms, sections 6.1 and 6.2 |
| Same plan from 20 live locations | $25 a month per location | Terms, section 6.2; Partner Plan |
| Branded iOS and Android app (add-on) | $19 a month per location | Pricing page; terms, section 6.2 |
| AI Website Builder Pro (add-on) | $29 a month per location | Pricing page; terms, section 6.2 |
| Setup and migration | No setup fee or other one-time fee | Pricing page FAQ; terms, section 6.1 |
| Free period | First month free for GloriaFood restaurants; the terms give the first location 30 days of the core plan free from go-live, once per account, with add-ons billed from activation | Pricing page; terms, section 6.5 |
| Per-order fee | None: the pricing page says 0% commission on orders | Pricing page FAQ |
| Card processing | Only through the payment provider FoodAmigos engages, at the standard rate for your country shown in your account; the rate is not on the pages we read | Terms, sections 7.1 and 7.2 |
| Contract | By default one month, renewing monthly; either side can end it in writing at the end of the current month | Terms, section 18.1 |
From gloriafood.foodamigos.io/pricing.html and gloriafood.foodamigos.io/restaurantplatformterms.html, checked 28 October 2026. The pricing page adds that your exact price is confirmed on the migration call.
Worked example, at list prices: one restaurant wanting an ordering website and its own app pays $35 plus $19, so $54 a month before tax. Under the terms as written, the free month covers the core plan but not the app, so with the app on from launch the first month costs $19; worth confirming on the migration call. Card processing comes on top.
What the FoodAmigos plan includes
- Online ordering for pickup and delivery from the restaurant's own branded page, plus QR code ordering.
- A website built for local Google search, with AI Website Builder Pro as a paid add-on.
- Table reservations, including Reserve with Google.
- Automated email marketing, promo codes, a loyalty points programme, dynamic pricing and AI upselling.
- A Google Business Profile connection and AI-assisted review management.
- Branded apps as the $19 add-on; the terms note that Apple and Google must accept the app.
- Named integrations: Toast, Clover, Genius and Revel for POS; DoorDash Drive, Uber Direct and Grubhub Connect for delivery.
None of the pages we read lists a FoodAmigos till; they describe connecting to a POS you already run. FoodAmigos says it serves more than 4,000 restaurants across the US, the UK, Europe, Canada and the Middle East; that is its own figure, which we have not checked.
The FoodAmigos terms worth reading first
- German law, with Bonn as the place of jurisdiction where that can be agreed. Worth knowing for any business outside Germany.
- Fee changes on at least four weeks' written notice; a rise of more than 10% within 12 months gives you a special right to terminate.
- You cannot connect your own payment processor. Refunds and chargebacks can be set against your payouts.
- When you leave, FoodAmigos may take your storefront, website and app offline and remove the app from the stores. Domains registered in your own name stay yours, and you can request an export of menus, customers and order history in CSV or JSON within 90 days.
- Signed up through a reseller? Your price and contract are then with the reseller, not FoodAmigos.
- Support: the pricing page promises 24/7 support, but the terms (section 9) give email and help-centre support in business hours, Monday to Friday, with no service levels beyond that and individual onboarding sessions only if agreed separately. If round-the-clock help or the done-for-you migration matters, get it written into your order form.
Who FoodAmigos suits
FoodAmigos fits a restaurant that wants a low US dollar price, month-to-month terms and a marketing-heavy bundle: email campaigns, reservations, loyalty, upselling and review tools in one plan. It suits restaurants already on Toast, Clover or another POS it integrates with, and GloriaFood resellers, who get volume pricing from 20 locations.
It is a weaker fit if you want a till included, a published card rate before you sign, your own payment processor or a contract under your own country's law. That does not make it a bad product.
The alternatives, with published prices
You can move to any provider. Below are published entry prices from each vendor's own pricing page, in the vendor's currency. Our fuller UK list with card rates and terms is the ordering system price index, and the GloriaFood alternative page compares GloriaFood with Aexir feature by feature. For UK restaurants, the best online ordering system for each need is ranked from the price index.

Where Aexir fits, and how it differs from FoodAmigos
Aexir is an online ordering system for independent restaurants and takeaways: their own branded iOS and Android ordering app, ordering website and browser till (POS on the Go), for a flat monthly fee at published prices. Aexir Digital Ltd is based in Manchester and sets up restaurants in the UK, France and worldwide. We compete with FoodAmigos, so weigh this section with that in mind.
- A till on Web and Pro: POS on the Go handles live orders, the menu editor, stock counts, refunds, delivery zones drawn on a map, offers, loyalty and multi-location.
- A published card rate: in the UK, Stripe at 2.5% + 30p with Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout; in France, 2,5 % + 0,35 €.
- Your app on the App Store and Google Play under your restaurant's name, on Aexir's developer account for £30 a year or on your own accounts at about £130 a year.
- Fewer marketing extras: FoodAmigos lists reservations and email campaigns in its core plan; neither is on Aexir's feature list. Aexir has loyalty, push notifications, offers and promo codes, QR table ordering and analytics.
- UK delivery through a partner courier, charged per delivery if used, or your own drivers. Aexir has no fleet, runs alongside the marketplaces rather than connecting to them, and its Square integration is coming soon.
The GloriaFood offers differ too. FoodAmigos gives the first month free on a monthly contract. Aexir gives the first three months at £0 to a restaurant that signs any plan on a 12-month term before 30 April 2027, then the published price from month four. Cancel before the 12 paid months finish and the free months are charged: £90 on Web or Starter, £120 on Plus, £150 on Pro ex VAT; 120, 150 or 180 € HT in France; the published price list elsewhere. More free months, more commitment.
Outside the UK and France, check currency, tax, card payments and delivery for your country with us on the call before you sign. Today the till and ordering screens show prices in pounds or euros only, and address lookup covers the UK and France only.
How to decide, whichever provider you pick
- Save your menu, photos, customer list and order history now; Oracle's FAQ allows 30 days after services end. The checklist for leaving GloriaFood covers each item.
- Ask every provider in writing: the monthly price for your setup, the card rate, the contract length and notice period, and what happens to your app, website and data when you leave.
- Register your ordering domain in your own name, and ask whose developer account your app will sit on.
- Run the new system alongside GloriaFood, repoint your website button and QR codes, then switch GloriaFood off before your final renewal lapses.
